Data deletion
At CommentGuard we respect your right to control your data. This page explains what data CommentGuard stores and how you can request its deletion at any time.
What data CommentGuard stores
When you connect your Facebook Page(s) or Instagram Professional account to CommentGuard, we process and store data needed to moderate your comments and messages, including:
- Your CommentGuard account details (name, email address).
- The Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts you have connected.
- Comments, ad comments, and messages retrieved from your connected Pages and accounts, along with the moderation actions taken on them.
- The access tokens that allow CommentGuard to connect to Meta's APIs on your behalf.
How to delete your data
You can delete your data in either of the following ways:
Option 1 — Disconnect your account (immediate)
- Log in to CommentGuard at https://app.commentguard.io
- Go to Account settings → Pages.
- Select Sign out / disconnect your Facebook account, and remove any connected Facebook Pages or Instagram accounts.
Disconnecting removes CommentGuard's access to your Meta data and deletes the associated stored comments, messages, and access tokens.
Additionally you can revoke CommentGuard's access from Facebook at any time via Settings & Privacy → Settings → Business Integrations, and from Instagram via your account's connected-apps settings.
Option 2 — Request full account deletion by email
To delete your entire CommentGuard account and all associated data, email us atsupport@commentguard.io with the subject line "Data deletion request" from the email address associated with your account.
Please include your CommentGuard account email so we can locate and verify your account.
What happens after you request deletion
Once we receive and verify your request, we will delete your CommentGuard account data and all associated Meta data (connected Pages/accounts, stored comments and messages, and access tokens) within 30 days. We will confirm by email once the deletion is complete.
